Typical teen novel, done really well.
Annie Nutter is the typical band geek, the lowest of the low in high school hierarchy. She's used to being a nobody at school and with her peers. Like any typical teen outcast, she gets picked on by the popular kids, obesses over her beauty or lack there of and wishes for a better life.
The stars align for Annie when the her Inventor father creates a magic mirror and her mother learns of the life that she could have had with an old boyfriend. One thing leads to another and Annie and her mother are transported to an alternate universe, where Annie is rich and popular!
This novel is fun and quick paced and although you probably know from the beginning that Annie is to learn a big lesson in the end, it's really fun watching her get there.
